KIRSTEN

 by Mark Kollar

A story of five young people – teenagers – unfolds before our eyes. However, this is not a simple genre for entertaining the younger generation. The book brings reflection on the questions of the meaning of life. Kirsten – chooses a more difficult path of patience despite a personal tragedy. Kirsten demonstrates by her actions that if we want to, our minds can mature at any time if we expose them to the right challenges and situations in life.

There’s more to the story than meets the eye.
Resist temptation – don’t read the last sentence of this book first!
Because the last sentence of the story will open a book within a book for you.

What people are saying

A book full of deep thoughts. Dear readers, I have never read a book written in a similar style. You can feel that it is written by a very worthy person. The deep thoughts of the main character created a very strong, engaging story.

Kirsten is an empathetic, humble girl who is undoubtedly an inspiring character, full of surprises… This book left a truly deep mark of humanity in me…

“Life takes something from us to give us something. Or it gives us something so it can take something else.” The book contains a multitude of admirably beautiful philosophical reflections, which are not typical for the age of contemporary teenagers, into whose environment this extroverted story is set.

I definitely recommend it as reading for encouragement in various challenging life situations for almost every age group.

Definitely yes.
How many of us could do what Kirsten did? We are so materialistic and hidden in our “selfish bubbles” that we don’t even recognize thoughts like “good for others” anymore. I believe Kirsten will dust off that bit of goodness that is in each of us. Admiration goes to the author Mark for masterfully assembling letters and words into such a beautiful story.

I liked that the ending surprised me. It seemed clear to me, but the conclusion was unexpected. Kirsten intrigued me a lot, and I would like to know if there will be a sequel. How will things turn out for them maybe a few years from now?

I haven’t read a book written in a similar style before. You can feel that it is written from the soul, from the heart…
The author has transformed profound thoughts and their intelligence into a very powerful story. Kirsten with her worldview, empathy, humility, effort, humility, and seeking goodness even where none seems to exist at first glance, is an inspiring character.

Similarly, Angela can inspire us and convince us that it is never too late for change.
This book will leave a mark on the reader (I believe on everyone).
Perhaps thanks to this book, the world will become a better place…

10 Tools for Advancing in Life

Our lives move in a “magical” circle. If we sow evil, we encounter evil. If we do nothing, nothing comes back to us. If we create good, good returns to us. [...]

Life in Relationship: He looks for answers in the fridge, she looks for them on the white ceiling of their bedroom.

The bedroom. It’s a miraculous place where two mirrors look at each other. Where even in the dark, everything is in clear light. Even if we haven’t hugged all day, it [...]

Why not apologize in life. Making mistakes is not a mistake.

Because you will intentionally create space for making mistakes. In short: Did I offend someone? Hurt them? Cause pain? Apologize. It’s that simple. They must accept it after all. And if [...]

How to be happy? The fact that you don’t feel happy at this moment means that you will probably feel happy soon..

It is, however, very important to realize where feelings of happiness come from. Do you know? Or do you feel that the feeling of happiness was entirely random? But what if [...]

Who is actually a God? We carry our temple with us.

Of course, it’s generally accepted that God came first and created humans, this world. But let’s consider now whether humans created God. I do not question believers and their faith in [...]

Can we live forever? Many people are dead even during their lives, and many people come alive only after death.

What exactly should be the result of our existence? Why live at all and not die right away?… We don’t visit graves for the dead. But for the one, they are [...]

How are we supposed to live? You don’t know? Everyone else knows 🙂

Where do we find ourselves? Does a rotten tomato have its God?

In space, we can define it as the universe. But where is this universe located? How big is it? Is there an answer to that? There is. Again, we can call [...]

Why are we here? We won’t live forever, but we can create something that will.

The answer is, you don’t have to know it or understand. A liver cell doesn’t know why it exists either. It might think, “What does it matter what I do?” And [...]

Mark Kollar

I don’t consider myself a writer yet. Rather, I write down my thoughts, experiences and life lessons into books. I also write blogs about insights from life.

After living on three continents, I had the urge to write down all the experiences and stories in a book, and that’s how my first book, THE CHOSEN, and my second book, KIRSTEN, were born. I have two more unfinished books: Exceptionals and Twisteds.

Satisfied with life I want to pass on interesting ideas and thoughts in the form of philosophizing that has helped me live a more meaningful life. It helps me explain situations in life and how to respond to them properly. This is what I try to translate into my books.
